Where Ben stands.
01 — Affordability
Cost of Living
Albertans are working harder than ever and getting less for it. Grocery bills have climbed past what a family budget can absorb, gas prices punish anyone who has to drive to work, and a house has become something people talk about instead of something they buy.
Ben understands the toll that takes, and he understands why it’s eroding people’s faith in government. Albertans are tired of doing everything right and still watching their pockets get drained by decisions made without them.
Ben wants an economic agenda that lets Albertans thrive for generations, not just scrape by until the next paycheque. Energy and agriculture built this province, and the small and medium businesses that support those industries are the backbone of communities across the riding. He’ll fight to keep them strong.
He also knows that long-term prosperity means diversification and innovation, both within those industries and across the wider economy. Alberta’s wealth shouldn’t depend on a single price on a single chart.
02 — Alberta first
A Better Deal for Alberta
Ben understands Albertans’ desire for a better deal for Alberta, for themselves and our neighbours. He shares their anger and frustration at the lack of regard for Alberta in Ottawa.
Faraway politicians consistently make decisions that hurt Albertans. We pump massive wealth into the national economy just to get strangled by federal regulations.
Ben believes Albertans deserve a real say in their own future. He supports direct democracy and a referendum on the province’s future.
03 — Crime
Keep Alberta Safe
Soft justice policies have turned rural Alberta into a playground for repeat, violent offenders. They target isolated properties on purpose, because they know the nearest detachment is miles away and the response time is measured in hours.
Ben has stood in the courtroom and watched it happen. He’s seen the same offenders released on bail again and again, and he’s seen what that costs the families on the receiving end.
He’ll demand a justice system that keeps dangerous predators behind bars instead of putting them back on the road. He’ll fight for properly resourced rural policing and get boots back on the ground where they’re needed.
Ben stands firmly behind property owners and the instinct to protect your own family. When you’re forced to be the first responder on your own land, your right to defend yourself isn’t up for debate.
